Two Day Wildlife Tile Painting
Workshop I ... Spring 2007
Dates and costs are Subject to change.
If you would like to participate in a two day workshop in my Bosque Farms, NM studio
refer to the calendar and then
e mail as soon as possible!

         $160 per person for 4- 6 people.
This price includes instruction, a small starter kit (including paints, oil, turpenoid,
7 ceramic tiles and CD of Tutorial I) and firing.
If you already own Tutorial I, Tutorial II or III may be substituted.
This workshop is "hands on" not demo.
This is painting with low-fire overglazes on glazed manufactured tiles focusing on wildlife.
The first day will last from 12:30am to 5:30pm and start with

*** a short lecture focusing on the information in
Tutorial 2001 followed by

*** a question and answer session and then

*** the rest of the day painting with a short "tea" at 3:00.
The second day will last from 12:30 to 5:30 and start with

***discussion on the results of firing followed by

***a question and answer session and then

***the rest of the day painting with a short "tea" at 3:00. (I will do any needed firing that night and mail the tiles
to the students, as needed.)
Returning students are welcomed to join in a workshop as a "Follow-up" participant.
This would be the same workshop minus
the cost of the starter kit ($60)... which you would already have by participating in a previous workshop.
Please keep in mind that as much personal attention will be given
as the size of the group allows.
Subject matter is NOT confined to the "Kingfisher Study" included in the tutorial.
You will work on a small mural (four to six 4.25"tiles) of the animal
of your choice... so have an idea of what you would like to work on and bring lots of photos
to work from.
Each participating artist will be responsible for bringing his/her own reference photos to work from.
My studio is not an art supply store but I do offer the paints, turp and oil that I use for sale, should you need more than is provided in the starter kit.
Students are required to use these products so-that we are all working with the same products and
I know from personal experience what the results should be.
"Please do not wear colognes, aftershaves or hairspray.
I am chemical sensitive and will not be
able to give personal attention to anyone wearing an artificial odor." Thank you, Alora
